Penthouse unlocked, chemo underway…
Greetings earthlings!
A few updates from Taz HQ…
After arriving with what can only be described as an optimistic amount of luggage (equivalent of two suitcases), nurse Deb took one look and quickly brought things back to reality:
“Love, trust me, you won’t be needing 90% of this.”
Not long after, Taz shifted rooms and has since upgraded to what we’re calling “the penthouse”—expansive city and bay views included.
Dad has also contributed by delivering his hot pink 2kg dumbbells, which have now officially been used for the first time since their original purchase.
On the medical front—Taz has started her first round of induction chemotherapy (7 days total) and is currently partway through.
She’s doing well. A bit more tired, a bit slower moving, but overall handling it extremely well so far.
She’ll be in hospital for a few weeks while everything is monitored.
A couple of practical notes:
She’s mostly offline at the moment to conserve energy
Visitors aren’t possible right now (infection risk is high—even flowers are banned in the ward)
If you’re wondering how to help—donating blood is one of the best things you can do (these Taz’s wishes). Taz will end up needing quite a lot of blood through this journey as do so many others. Taz is extremely grateful for all of the amazing medical support she is receiving and to everyone out there who donates blood.
She’s feeling your love and support, even from a distance.
Love from Taz and our family x
